Approach

How I photograph a wedding in France

I combine unobtrusive coverage of the celebration with calm portrait direction. Reviewing the property and schedule in advance lets us use its architecture and light without repeatedly removing the couple from their guests.

Each enquiry is planned around the real venue and schedule. I do not present availability in a region as previous experience at every property.

Planning

Planning a chateau wedding

A chateau often places the whole celebration on one property, which reduces travel and creates a coherent visual story. Ask where each part of the day happens, whether guests need transport between buildings and what the wet-weather alternative looks like.

For photography, the important details are window light during preparations, the ceremony direction, portrait access and the transition from daylight to dinner. These decisions are covered in the destination wedding planning guide.

Questions

Planning photography in France

Are you available as a wedding photographer in France?

Yes. I am available for destination weddings and elopements in France. Coverage, travel and coordination with the venue or planner are agreed before booking.

What should we consider for a French chateau wedding?

Confirm where preparations, ceremony, dinner and dancing will happen, how long transitions take and whether the venue limits flash or access. A realistic timeline keeps photography calm and protects time with guests.

How much portrait time do we need?

For most wedding days, one focused portrait session of around 20–30 minutes is more useful than several long interruptions. The exact plan depends on the venue, season and ceremony time.
